Our founders, Phil and Cheryl Genet, re-met at UCSF infusion center in San Francisco on November 23, 2005. After a whirlwind romance that began in September 2006, the couple started their lives together in San Rafael, California. Cheryl is a cancer warrior, and has beat thyroid and breast cancer multiple times. Phil was always by her side. They share a passion for giving back and taking care of others. In 2014, the couple purchased what is now known as Lac Du Genet in Sonoma, California.
Phil and Cheryl are the epitome of a true love story, reminding us all of the importance of second chances, and later overcoming even more tremendous health obstacles. In 2022, Phil was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, Lewy Body Dementia, and cancer, and he began receiving hospice care. No one could have predicted that he would stay with us through June 2025. Phil was happy to see the progress of the dream he shares with Cheryl come to fruition, as the first Bliss Day took place in early June at the Lac du Genet property in Sonoma, providing care for those with cancer.
